THANK YOU to all those involved in the Cliffhangers Organization over the years.

What started as a small group of women meeting one night in November of 2001 to discuss how to better organize for tournaments has continued to blossom.

The Front Range Organization of Women’s Ice Hockey Tournaments (also known as Cliffhangers Hhockey) is dedicated to the promotion of player development and a positive representation of women’s ice hockey through quality instruction, camaraderie, opportunity and sportsmanship; Whether participating at a league level or tournament, the Cliffhangers offer an opportunity to suit diverse hockey communities for adult women. As a non- profit organization run entirely by volunteers, we strive to provide a quality environment for our membership to experience varying levels of the sport of ice hockey at a reduced cost through annual fundraising and sponsorships.

In addition to participating in a number of tournament in the US and beyond, the Cliffhangers also play in the WACH league. In 2002/03, we entered a team in the C division of the WACH league. During the 2003 summer, we played in the Boulder Valley Intermediate league. For the 2003/04 season, we competed in the B2 division of the WACH league - finishing third. For the 2004/05 season, teams were entered in both the B1 and B2 divisions of the WACH league. The 2005 - 06 season again saw 2 Cliffhangers teams, one in B1 and one in the B2 divisions of the WACH league. While both teams were competitive, on the B1 team players made the commitment to weekly practices and additional off-ice training sessions. The goal was to compete in the USA Hockey Womens Senior C National Championship. Despite a good effort, the B1 team lost to the eventual Rocky Mountain District winner. The B2 team finished a successful season under the direction of Coach Sabrina Becker. For the 2006-07 season, the Cliffhangers entered one B1 team in the WACH league.

The Cliffhangers in 2006 - 07 have awarded a sponsorship to the girls division of the Arvada Hockey Association. The Cim Koch Memorial Scholarship will go to deserving player(s) who may not otherwise be able to play this great game. This scholarship will be an annual event as long as we are able to continue it.
